Program Manager, Health and Social Innovation Lab- The Graduate School-(170000TU)
TheGraduate School at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seekingapplicants for a full-time Lecturer, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment,with expertise in health and social entrepreneurship, innovation,human-centered design, business, or related field of study. The selected candidatewill also hold the administrative appointment of Program Manager. Lecturerappointments are long-term, renewable contracts and are eligible for promotion.The Faculty Program Manager will oversee co-curricular programing andoperations within the newly established Health and Social Innovation Lab. In addition, the position will teach in thenew Health and Social Innovation master's degree and certificate programs and willplay a key part in building a foundation to support innovation andentrepreneurship activities and capacity at the University of Maryland,Baltimore.

TheGraduate School is working collaboratively to create the Health and Social InnovationLab, an interprofessional incubation and education space for students, faculty,and staff to join forces around topics that advance health and social equality.This space is housed in the west side of Baltimore and will be launching in theearly fall of 2017. The Health and Social Innovation Lab will be a catalyst anda gathering place for those seeking to work collaboratively to improve thehuman condition. Through the Lab, the Graduate School will develop innovative andentrepreneurial resources to incubate, accelerate, and sustain new ventures; organizeinterprofessional teams around key topics; create educational opportunities;and foster partnerships and exchange with university and industry partners.
Establish and deliver a series of diverse and innovativeco-curricular programs that will equip and empower interprofessional studentteams to impact and address health & social disparities in Baltimore andbeyond.
Provideday-to-day oversight of the operations of the Health and Social Innovation Lab facilityincluding hiring, training, and supervising student fellows and employees.
Cultivate strong entrepreneurial skill development for students, researchers, and professionals through design thinking, lean startup, and team-based experiential learning courses and workshops.
Teach in the Health and Social Innovation Master's and certificate programs offered through the Graduate School.
Provide advisement and support forentrepreneurial student organizations and assist in the development ofalternative career pathways for student participants.
Provide students with exposure to practitioners, professionals, and faculty in urban development, entrepreneurship, regulation, finance, and the life sciences.
Assess programs and services to determine the impact on student learning and economic development.
Manage the web and social media presence for the Health and Social Innovation Lab in collaboration with the Graduate School Marketing and Recruitment team.
Market and promote programs, events, and services to internal and external audiences.
Build relationships and networks to engageGraduate School alumni.
Master's degree in a related field such asBusiness Administration, Economics, and Sociology.
Demonstrated experience working in a health andsocial entrepreneurship and innovation environment.
Experience with student programming forgraduate students and expertise or formal education in business,entrepreneurship, and/or participatory design is preferred.
Experience in curriculum development ispreferred.
Strong candidates will also have demonstratedinterest in and commitment to interprofessional collaboration.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
